The College of St. Scholastica

Student-Led Learning for Community Wellness

Our student-run maurices Community Clinic offers physical and occupational therapy services to individuals with limited or no insurance, and to the St. Scholastica Community. Located in the Health Science Center at BlueStone, we proudly serve Duluth and its surrounding areas to provide treatment for many conditions and diagnoses.

At the Clinic, you’ll receive care from students in our Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy programs, as well as the Lake Superior College Physical Therapy Assistant program. This collaboration allows students to provide quality therapy services and gain real-world experience while helping you improve your health. The unique clinical learning environment enables students to hone their skills as they provide you with genuine care.

How Can We Help You?

If you have a disability or limitation affecting your daily activities and no longer qualify for skilled therapy, you may benefit from our services. We work closely with local clinics to continue pediatric and adult client care after discharge or when insurance no longer covers ongoing treatment.

Adult and Pediatric Therapy Services

All care is provided by students under the supervision of licensed program faculty, ensuring you receive the attention and support you need. We work with all patients, regardless of your diagnosis. Please call the clinic for further information.

Can Anyone Visit the Clinic?

We are here to support you and work with your current care team to ensure you receive the right services. If you no longer qualify for skilled therapy but could benefit from continued care, we can help.

You may be referred to our clinic if:

  • Your insurance no longer covers care
  • You’ve been discharged from therapy but could still benefit from continuing with structured activity
  • Financial challenges are preventing you from getting the care you need

What Can I Expect from My First Visit?

The clinic functions just like a formal outpatient clinic, although we do not accept walk-ins. You will check in at our front desk for your appointment. At your designated appointment time, our students will come and greet you.

In your first session, our students will complete an initial evaluation, learn your goals and challenges, and start any appropriate interventions. From there, we will see you weekly for the duration of the semester, or until you have reached your goals.
