St. Scholastica welcomes Dr. Kevin Majeres
Dr. Kevin Majeres will present a free lecture about the psychological benefits of Catholicism via Zoom on April 7, 2022 at 6 p.m.
Anxiety is on the rise today in our society, and for good reason. From navigating a global pandemic to nervously monitoring conflicts in eastern Europe, it can be a challenge to find respite in a life full of tension. Dr. Majeres, Harvard psychiatrist and founder of OptimalWork.com, offers some surprising advice on where we can find help facing challenges in our life – the Catholic faith!
“The Catholic Studies Lecture Series is guided by the conviction that Catholicism is one of the world’s great monuments of human flourishing, the rigorous and sensitive study of which benefits the Church, academy, and society,” says Dr. Kevin Vaughan, director of The Braegelman Program in Catholic Studies. “I look forward to Dr. Majeres opening up the psychological benefits of Catholicism, for Catholics and non-Catholics alike.”
Community members are invited to participate in an interview with Majeres on how the Catholic faith complements and perfects the best strategies found in modern psychology for addressing the challenges of daily life. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions in a Q&A immediately following the interview.
