St. Scholastica announces new hires and promotions
The College of St. Scholastica, an independent Catholic Benedictine college with a 110-year history of providing engaged learning, deep reflection and modern curricula to their students, recently completed a round of new hires and promotions focused on enhancing and optimizing the student experience through a restructuring of the College’s Enrollment Management and Student Affairs department.
Nathan Dehne, who serves as the new Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, is a veteran in numerous areas of higher education and has a strong history of change management and dynamic leadership. Prior to joining St. Scholastica, he served as the Vice President for Enrollment Management at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University, where he oversaw the offices of admission, financial aid and marketing.
“I am incredibly honored and excited to be joining the College in this new role,” says Dehne. “The students, staff and faculty I have met are tremendous, and I can’t wait to become a part of the fabric of the St. Scholastica community.”
Lindsay Schall has been promoted from Executive Director of Enrollment Management and Marketing to the position of Associate Vice President, Enrollment Management. She brings a wealth of experience and institutional knowledge to her new role, having first joined St. Scholastica in 2009. During her tenure, she has also held the positions of Executive Director-Admissions, Regional Director, Director of Transfer Admissions and Director of Graduate/Extended Studies Recruitment.
Dory Kempf has been promoted from Director of Student Support Services to the position of Associate Vice President, Student Affairs. Since joining St. Scholastica in 1999, Dory has also held the positions of Academic Advisor and Counselor and brings a passion for helping students achieve their educational goals while having an exceptional college experience.
Jessica Cherry has been appointed Athletic Director for St. Scholastica. She joins from Marymount University in Arlington, VA, where she served as the associate director of athletics and compliance, and was also their senior woman administrator (SWA). The College offers our sincere thanks to Merissa Edwards for her work over the past year serving as the Interim Athletic Director and for the role she played in our successful transition to the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) this past year.
The College also wishes to recognize Steve Lyons for his long-standing leadership in student affairs. Lyons is anticipated to retire at the end of the academic year, after nearly 31 years of service. In his final year, he will serve as Senior Officer for Special Projects, where he will oversee Facilities Management, lead the update to the College’s Master’s Facilities Plan and work with senior administration on key projects, including the new Student Center.
Taken as a whole, these new hires and promotions mark a significant restructuring of the College’s Enrollment Management and Student Affairs department and usher in a new level of excellence in enhancing and optimizing the student experience of all of our Saints.
