Message from the Office of the President: April 29 update
Dear Colleagues,
I hope you are well as we close out the week. It’s hard to believe that we are on the brink of our last week of classes! While this academic year proved to be yet another unpredictable one, I am so proud of our Saints community and everyone’s contributions in delivering a safe, uninterrupted learning environment for our students. We have much to be grateful for during this year of appreciation.
Commencement volunteers needed
It is that time of the year again and we have a great day planned for our spring 2022 graduating class. We will be celebrating the class of 2022 on Saturday, May 14 here on campus! Here is the schedule of events for the day of commencement.
Volunteer. Here is how you can help our students and their guests with the commencement exercises. Go to this Google document to see all of the volunteer opportunities and sign up today.
Participate. If you are not volunteering, please participate; here’s how you can help cheer on our students. You can also meet and greet them at your school table or choose to meet up with your students during brunch. RSVP for brunch here.
Celebrating the Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact Awardees
Last week, we shared the winners of our Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact Awards, Meredith Kevan (Presidents’ Student Leadership Award), the National Center for Computer Science Education and Jennifer Rosato (Presidents’ Civic Engagement Leadership Award) and Loaves & Fishes and Anne Schepers (Presidents’ Community Partner Award). Everyone in the community is invited to join in on Wednesday, May 4 from 11 a.m.-noon to celebrate the awardees during a virtual event.
2022 McNair Senior Award Winners
Congratulations to Heather Springer, Marissa Bober and Dustin Blacketter – winners of our 2022 McNair Senior Awards! If you cross paths with any of these scholarly rockstars, please be sure to give them a big congrats!
Mayfest Block Party, tomorrow!
Join us this weekend for our Mayfest Block Party! Due to the weather predicted on Saturday, we have decided to move the activities inside to the Field House in the BWC. Our event will run from 3-9 p.m. Some activities will include food trucks, a bar for 21+, door prizes every 15 minutes, caricature artists, balloon animals, tons of inflatable bouncy houses and games, cornhole tournaments, live music and art tables. Everyone in the St. Scholastica Community is welcome to come and join us for all of the fun!
In closing, wishing you all a safe and rejuvenating weekend!
Be well,
Barbara
