Gratitude and positive psychology
Psychology instructor Laurie Anderson recently appeared on WDIO’s The Lift, where she discussed the significant psychological benefits of practicing gratitude in our daily lives. Known for her engaging study abroad courses, including a recent trip to Denmark with 39 students for The Science of Happiness program, Anderson emphasized that gratitude is an invaluable subject of study.
Anderson presented research to indicate that grateful individuals tend to enjoy higher levels of physical, psychological and spiritual well-being. She also highlighted that gratitude can lead to greater alertness, determination, life satisfaction and improved problem-solving skills. Grateful individuals also experience less negativity and are more inclined to assist others.
