Concerning the death of George Floyd

Dear Saints Family,

This week we witnessed the devastatingly brutal event that led to the death of George Floyd. This tragic incident highlights once again the inequity and injustices in our society, and the need for us to raise our voices. Our Catholic social teachings and Benedictine Values uphold the sanctity of life and the dignity of the human person. Our hearts go out in solidarity to the family of George Floyd, to our students, faculty and staff of color, and the broader communities who are suffering great loss and pain. We are called upon to act with justice and to be a people of compassion, inclusivity and love. As a College that deeply values social justice, we must remain unified and steadfast in our work to end injustice and ‘right the wrongs’ our communities experience.
