The College of St. Scholastica

The College of St. Scholastica officially welcomed the Class of 2028 with convocation on Tuesday, Sept. 3. Tuesday’s ceremony was led by alumni who graduated over 50 years ago. These alumni, who happen to be all women, underscore the College’s commitment to fostering a sense of community and continuity between past and present Saints.

Luke Kamon ’28 expressed excitement about the convocation ceremony in a Fox21 Online article, marking the real start of his college experience: “It’s really cool, especially after having Welcome Weekend over, it’s a really good start to the year. With classes starting up today it’s reinforcing that we’re here, we’re getting ready for the school year and it’s just, it’s really exciting.”

“When these freshmen see these women usher them in, they know that they have a support system that goes beyond the walls here at the institution,” shared Reba Copeland, associate vice president for College Advancement. “And so, they can look at these alumni and see the amazing achievements they have had in their education and personal and professional lives, and they know that they have a very large group of alumni supporting them once they are past their time here at the College.”
