The following employers will pay for the cost of the Nursing Assistant Training up front with an agreed-upon work commitment. Visit their websites for additional details. Course Outline

Once enrolled, you will receive an email to register for on-campus skills and clinical hours. Make sure that you complete all learning modules including the OnTrack Skills Bundle & OnTrack Training Course Bundle prior to the first day of class. Failure to do so may subject you to a financial penalty and you will be required to reschedule for a future class based on availability.

A total of 78 hours — online and in-lab

  • 44 hours of theory online: schedule on your own time/completed asynchronously
  • 34 hours in-person in Duluth or St. Cloud, two 8-hour days and two 9-hour days*

*Upon enrollment, you will receive an email to register for on-campus skills/patient care sessions. There will be multiple sessions offered throughout the year in Duluth and St. Cloud. Sessions will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. 

The courses will meet both Wisconsin and Minnesota requirements and are available, with face-to-face hours available in Duluth or St. Cloud.

Successful completion of a nursing assistant training course or current registration (at time of program start) as a  certified nursing assistant, is a requirement for the Traditional and Post-baccalaureate Nursing Programs.

Tuition and Financing

Tuition: $1225*


* Tuition rates are subject to change. Tuition is $975 for the online didactic portion and $250 labs/clinicals. Other fees may apply.

Financing

Although there is no financial aid available through St. Scholastica for the OnTrack Nursing Assistant Training program, finances should not be a barrier to completing the Nursing Assistant Course.

*Eligible individuals may qualify for grant funding for their CNA training and support services to help them achieve their goals. *Individuals may also get reimbursed for the cost of this course by working for an Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing facility. Program Overview

Quick Pathway to Nursing

Nursing assistants are an integral part of the nursing-care team. Once you complete the Nursing Assistant Training course and take your Registry test, you can begin working in a variety of areas, such as nursing homes, home health, clinics, hospitals and other healthcare facilities.

Nursing pathways: Trained Nursing Assistant, Trained Medication Aide, Licensed Practice Nurse, Registered Nurse

What does a nursing assistant do?

Some responsibilities of a nursing assistant include:

  • Working with/under an RN or LPN
  • Taking vital signs of patients
  • Answering patient calls
  • Documentation of care patterns
  • Feeding patients, measuring and recording their food and liquid intake
  • Assist patients with daily care
  • Assisting nursing-team with general medical procedures

  • Ability to bend and stoop

Online application

Complete the online application. Choose Transfer, Duluth or St. Cloud, Non-Degree Seeking OnTrack Nursing Assistant Training program.

Post completion

Reply to Offer: After you are notified a decision has been made regarding your application, log into your application portal, view your decision letter, and click “Reply to Offer”. The program coordinator will register you for the online portion. You will receive an email from OnTrack containing further instructions on accessing the online modules.
