Scholar to discuss movements to end racism, harassment

St. Scholastica will host a women’s theology lecture later this month that will examine efforts to put an end to racism and harassment.

Stephanie Arel, PhD, will present on “Coming into View: An Intersectional Analysis of Movements to End Racism and Harassment” from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 19 in the Burns Wellness Commons auditorium (room 249) on campus.

Arel is an Andrew W. Mellon Fellow at the September 11 Memorial and Museum and a visiting researcher at New York University. She is the author of “Affect Theory, Shame and Christian Formation” and co-editor of “Post-Traumatic Public Theology.” Her work revolves around the interplay of psychology and religion to inform an evaluation of trauma and its impact on human dignity.
