Love of learning in action: The Center for Professional Training and Lifelong Learning
The Center for Professional Training and Lifelong Learning is a new initiative at The College of St. Scholastica at the forefront of professional development in the Duluth-Superior community and beyond. The Center is dedicated to providing individuals with the opportunity to explore their interests, enhance their careers or successfully transition into new professional fields.
“Learning is not just an activity; it’s a journey,” said Eric Nordgren, director of Educational Experiences and Development at St. Scholastica. “At the Center for Professional Training and Lifelong Learning, we empower individuals to embrace that journey. Whether you’re looking to dive into a new topic or advance your professional skills, we have something for everyone.”
The diverse range of flexible online programs and in-person schedules are specifically designed for lifelong learners. This offering embodies the College’s commitment to the Benedictine value of love of learning, an integral aspect of the student experience that promotes scholarly, artistic and scientific endeavors to ultimately enrich human life.

The Center plays an essential role in supporting the economic and social vitality of the Duluth-Superior area. By working closely with local businesses, non-profits and community organizations, the Center ensures that its programming addresses the unique needs of the region while helping individuals achieve their personal and professional goals.
