The College of St. Scholastica will host esteemed theologian Dr. Kristin Colberg for an online webinar reflecting on the Synod of Synodality on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
Dr. Colberg is a renowned theologian and an associate professor of theology at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University in Collegeville, MN. Her distinguished role as a Vatican-appointed member of the theological commission supporting the Synod on Synodality situates her as a pivotal voice in contemporary ecclesiology and ecumenism.
The webinar will provide insights into the Synod’s implications for the future of the Church and offer attendees the unique opportunity to engage with Dr. Colberg during a Q&A session. Dr. Kevin Vaughan, director of Catholic Studies and Theology and Religious Studies at The College of St. Scholastica, will facilitate the interview.
Dr. Vaughan expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming lecture: “We are honored to host Dr. Kristin Colberg for this critical reflection on the Synod of Synodality. Her deep involvement in the Synod and expertise in ecclesiology provide a rare opportunity for our community to gain firsthand insight into this remarkable event.”
“This event underscores our dedication to exploring the Catholic intellectual tradition and its relevance to contemporary issues,” Dr. Vaughan continued. The webinar is sponsored by the Braegelman Catholic Studies program, which explores the Catholic intellectual tradition with students and the larger community. The program showcases Catholicism as a monument of human flourishing and is designed for those interested in deepening their knowledge of Catholicism’s rich tradition and its interaction with culture.
