Transfer Benedictine Scholarship

The College of St. Scholastica annually awards Benedictine Scholarships to admitted transfer students who demonstrate a high level of academic achievement and potential (excludes students enrolled in special programs with reduced tuition rates).

There are four levels of the Transfer Benedictine Scholarship:

Benedictine Emeritus: $15,000 per year for a cumulative GPA at 3.5 or higher (4.0 scale)
Benedictine Founders: $14,000 per year for a cumulative GPA of 3.0 to 3.49
Benedictine Heritage: $13,000 per year for a cumulative GPA of 2.5 to 2.99
Benedictine: $10,000 per year for a cumulative GPA of 2.0 to 2.49

Q: What criteria are taken into consideration for the Transfer Benedictine Scholarship?
A: The scholarship is based on your cumulative GPA from all educational institutions attended after high school.

Q: Is my Transfer Benedictine Scholarship level determined at the time I apply or can it change if my GPA increases?
A: Your Transfer Benedictine level is determined based on your final transfer GPA.

Q: Is the Transfer Benedictine Scholarship automatically included in my financial aid package or do I need to apply for this scholarship?
A: The Transfer Benedictine is automatically included in your financial aid award. You do not have to fill out a separate application.

Q: What do I have to do to keep this scholarship?
A: You must maintain a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative GPA (based on a 4.0 scale) to keep your Transfer Benedictine Scholarship.

Q: Is the Transfer Benedictine Scholarship a renewable scholarship or do I need to reapply for it?
A: The Transfer Benedictine Scholarship is renewable for as long as you are enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student pursuing your first bachelor's degree. You do not need to reapply -- the scholarship renews automatically if minimum requirements are met.

Q: Will the Transfer Benedictine Scholarship affect any other scholarships that I may receive?
A:  The Transfer Benedictine Scholarship is considered a merit-based scholarship.  Any additional merit-based scholarships or need-based aid will be stacked on top of it.  (International transfer students - your scholarship program works differently.  You are eligible for the Global Benedictine Scholarship, rather than a Transfer Benedictine Scholarship.  Please contact Ollie Meyer for more details.)
