Orientation is an important step in the process of becoming a St. Scholastica student. During orientation students register for classes, meet future peers and faculty, become familiar with the campus and have questions answered.

A social event and an introduction to St. Scholastica

Orientation is a social event with some formal presentations and introductions. The presentations and introductions are kept to a minimum so you can meet and enjoy the company of other transfer students.

You will be introduced to the "Transfer Student Advisor" and learn about what it means to be a student at CSS through a presentation on "Cor et Anima," a statement of student values at the College. Previous transfer students had a good time and thought the event worth attending.

Common questions

Q: I am starting school in the summer, should I sign up for the fall semester Transfer Student Orientation?

A:  Yes, as there is no orientation for transfer students entering the College in a summer term.

Q:  Can family and friends attend the Transfer Student Orientation with me?

A:  Yes! We encourage you to invite them, all you have to do is let us know how many will be attending so we have enough food at the orientation's free lunch. Past lunches featured Italian or Mexican cuisine.

Q:  Are there accommodations for transfer students with special needs?

A:  Yes, but please inform us of the need before attending the orientation.

Q:  Do I have to pay to attend a Transfer Student Orientation?

A:  No, there is no charge.

Q:  What should I bring with me?

A:  By the time you attend orientation you should have been registered for classes, however, in some cases, registration will take place at orientation.  If that is the case, please make sure that we have current copies of your transcripts available.

Q: Who do I contact if I still have questions?

A: Contact the Orientation Office at orientation@css.edu or call them at (800) 249-6412 ext 6286 or (218) 723-6286.
