If you meet two of the following criteria upon application to The College of St. Scholastica, you will be invited by letter to interview for the Honors Program:
• top 15 percent of high school class
• ACT score of 26 or SAT score of 1100
• GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale
A successful interview with the Honors Director is required for admission to the Honors Program.
If you wish to participate in the Honors Program, but do not meet two of the three criteria above, you may still apply to the Honors Program by contacting the Honors Director. The Director may allow you to participate in the Honors Program based on a successful interview.
Traditional students are required to complete 20 credits of Honors courses, with at least eight of the credits at the upper division level (3000 or 4000 level). One of these courses may be an Honors thesis. With the permission of the Honors Director, transfer students may graduate from the Honors Program by completing 12-16 credits of Honors courses, again with at least eight of the credits at the upper division level.
In order to graduate with an Honors Designation on your transcript, you must meet the following criteria:
• overall GPA of 3.5
• minimum grade of B in all Honors courses
• 20 credits of Honors courses for traditional students and 12-16 credits of Honors courses for transfer students with Director's permission, eight at the upper-division level for each
