  • Includes not only coursework in the French language but also study of French and Francophone culture and literature
  • Employs  a practical, communicative approach in teaching the French language
  • Students can apply several French courses toward a minor or major in Global, Cultural and Language Studies
  • Students are able and encouraged to spend four weeks studying abroad in Dakar, Senegal — a country in West Africa known for its rich heritage and history 
  • Students with an intermediate and advanced proficiency in French can work with local elementary schools to provide French language instruction as part of an after-school curriculum
