Master Certificate in Project Management

The Certificate in Project Management is a foundational certificate, offered 100 percent online. This graduate level certificate is designed for professionals seeking increased knowledge and experience with project management processes and techniques.

Graduates of the certificate will be able to:

  • Critically evaluate leadership and project management theories and practice
  • Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in the processes and techniques used in project initiation and planning
  • Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in the processes and techniques used in project monitoring, controlling, and closing
  • Develop and apply strategic decision making models to increase effectiveness in project decision making

Who should take this certificate program?

This certificate is primarily targeted to professionals without a PMP® certification possessing a bachelor's degree from any field.

How long will it take to earn the certificate?

The 12 credit certificate program can be completed in two semesters and consists of four foundational courses from the Master of Science in Project Management curriculum. These courses cover topics related to writing and communications, leadership, basic project management practices, and strategic decision making.

Project Management Institute

The College of St. Scholastica is approved as a Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.) by the Project Management Institute (PMI). This means that most courses are worth 36 professional development units (PDU's) to meet the continuing education requirements needed by PMP certificate holders.

The courses that comprise this certificate program may be applied toward the Master of Science in Project Management degree program.
