Preceptors

Jennifer AchJennifer joined The College of St. Scholastica in August 2014 as a preceptor. She is a Graduate Intern Athletic Trainer at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Jennifer completed a B.S. in Athletic Training at Eastern Washington University and is currently pursuing a M.Ed. at UMD.

Maren BarootianMaren joined The College of St. Scholastica in August 2008 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer after serving as an Athletic Training Fellow at UW LaCrosse in 2007-08. She previously completed her M.S. in Exercise Physiology at the University of Northern Colorado in May 2007. Maren attended UW LaCrosse for her B.S. in Athletic Training graduating in 2005. She is a certified member of the NATA (National Athletic Trainers Association) and an American Red Cross instructor for CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.

Charla Buxbaum Charla joined The College of St. Scholastica in September of 2012 as preceptor. She is an Athletic Trainer at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Charla is an alumna of the CSS Entry-Level Master’s Athletic Training program and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay.

Jenny DallandJenny joined The College of St. Scholastica in September of 2009 as a preceptor. She is an Athletic Trainer in Orthopedics at Essentia Health. Jenny completed her M.A. in Exercise Physiology at The College of St. Scholastica and her B.S. in Athletic Training & Exercise Science at Minnesota State University, Moorhead.

Mike GogolinMike joined The College of St. Scholastica in August 2009 as a preceptor. He is an Athletic Trainer at Essentia Health and Superior (Wis.) Senior High School. He completed his B.A. in Exercise Physiology/Athletic Training from The College of St. Scholastica.

Terry joined The College of St. Scholastica in August 2009 as a preceptor. He is an Athletic Trainer at Essentia Health and Duluth Marshall High School. He completed his M.Ed. in Education from the University of Minnesota Duluth and his B.A.A. in Physical Education from the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Stephanie HauerStephanie joined The College of St. Scholastica in August 2009 as a preceptor. She is an athletic trainer at Essentia Health and Duluth Denfeld High School. She completed her B.A.S. in Athletic Training at the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Donald HermansonDonald joined The College of St. Scholastica in September 2013 as a preceptor. He is the Intern Athletic Trainer at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He completed his BS in Athletic Training at Minnesota State University-Moorhead.

Bret HinnenkampBret joined The College of St. Scholastica in August 2009 as a preceptor. He is an Athletic Trainer at Essentia Health and Proctor High School. He has an M.Ed. in Education and a B.A.S. in Exercise Science/Athletic Training at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

Susan HoppeSusan (Suz) joined The College of St. Scholastica in August 2009 as a preceptor. She is an Associate Director of Sports Medicine Services at UMD and works with men's ice hockey. Suz was previously at Gardner Webb in Boiling Springs, N.C. She has an M.Ed. from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Ga., and a B.S. in Kinesiology from UW Eau Claire. She is working toward her doctorate degree in Education at the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Luke joined The College of St. Scholastica in October 2013 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and also serves as a preceptor. Luke completed his MA in Health Promotion at the University of Alabama and obtained a BS in Athletic Training from the University of Illinois.

Jennie OgardJennie joined The College of St. Scholastica in August 2009 as a preceptor. She is an Athletic Trainer at Essentia Health and Duluth East High School. She completed her B.A.S. in Athletic Training at the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Kim MoncelKim has served as a preceptor for The College of St. Scholastica since August 2009. She is employed by Essentia Health and provides outreach medical services as an Athletic Trainer to the University of Wisconsin – Superior. Kim holds a M.S. in Exercise Science from Northern Michigan University and completed a B.S. in Physical Education/Athletic Training at Washburn University. Prior to her position at Essentia Health, Kim served as the Head Athletic Trainer at The College of St. Scholastica. Throughout the years Kim has had an active role with Team USA and traveled to the 2012 Summer Olympics in London as part of the USA medical staff.

Sarah PothostSarah joined The College of St. Scholastica in September of 2009 as a preceptor. She is an Athletic Trainer at Essential Health and Hermantown High School. Sara completed her B.A. in Athletic Training at the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Tom RheaumeTom has been at The College of St. Scholastica since August 2002 and is presently working with football and baseball. He also has worked on call for Essentia Health. Tom graduated from CSS with a Master of Arts in Exercise Physiology in 2002 and a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Physiology in 2001. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Minnesota Athletic Trainers’ Association.

Pat RileyPat joined The College of St. Scholastica in August 2009 as a preceptor. He is an Athletic Trainer at Essentia Health and Northwestern (Wis.) High School. He completed his B.A. in Exercise Physiology/Athletic Training at The College of St. Scholastica.

Daniele SchroederDaniele joined The College of St. Scholastica in August 2014 as a preceptor. She is an Assistant Athletic Trainer at The College of St. Scholastica. As an alumna, Daniele completed her M.S. in Athletic Training at CSS and a B.A. in Biology at Wartburg College. She is also a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist.

Jason joined The College of St. Scholastica in October 2013 as preceptor. He is an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Jason is an alumni of the CSS Entry-Level Master’s Athletic Training program and completed his BS in Biology at St. John’s University.

Chelsea SparrowChelsea joined The College of St. Scholastica in August 2011 as a preceptor. She is an Athletic Trainer in Employee Health and Rehabilitation Services at Essentia Health. She completed her B.S. in Athletic Training at Lake Superior State University.

Dustin TinoDustin joined The College of St. Scholastica in August 2010 as a Preceptor. He is an Athletic Trainer in Orthopedics at St. Mary’s Duluth Clinic. He completed his B.S. in Exercise Science – Athletic Training at Winona State University.

Brandon TetraultBrandon joined The College of St. Scholastica in September of 2014 as preceptor. He is an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Brandon completed a M.S. in Sports & Recreation Management at South Dakota State and a B.S. in Athletic Training at the University of North Dakota.

Mike WendingerMike joined The College of St.Scholastica in August 2009 as a Preceptor. He serves as the Director of Sports Medicine Services and Athletic Trainer for football and tennis at the University of Minnesota Duluth.

In his role as Director for Sports Medicine Services he oversees all athletic training and strength and conditioning services, a role he has held since July 2004. He has taught a variety of courses in the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Department at UMD since 1999 and assisted in getting the athletic training education program accredited. He also served as an intern with the New Orleans Saints.

Mike has an M.A. in Physical Education with an Athletic Training Concentration from Western Michigan University and a B.A. in Exercise Science with an Athletic Training Concentration from University of Minnesota Duluth. Mike has memberships with the NATA, GLATA, MATA, and NSCA.

Kriste WilkeKristi Wilke joined The College of St. Scholastica in August 2012 as a preceptor. She is an Athletic Trainer at the University of Wisconsin - Superior. Kristi completed her Master's degree at the University of Penn California and her Bachelor's degree at UW-Superior.

Devin joined The College of St. Scholastica in September 2012 as a preceptor. He is an Athletic Trainer at the University of Wisconsin — Superior. Devin completed his B.A. in Athletic Training at Gustavus Adolphus College.
