Participants attending briefings with legislative leaders and speak directly with their state senators and representatives about the importance of the State Grant Program, which provides funds for low- and middle-income students attending Minnesota colleges. During 2012-2013, over 900 CSS students (about one third of all undergraduates) received a State Grant, with an average award of more than $3,000.
Please try to attend, regardless of whether or not you have received a State Grant. Everyone gains from this experience at the Capitol and your presence may help influence legislators to increase their support for this program that affects so many of our students.
The entire event is free! This includes transportation, breakfast, and lunch. Students will also receive a free T-shirt from Student Senate the day of the event.
