RA and ARM Selection 2013-2014

We are glad you're interested in becoming a Resident Advisor (RA) or Academic Role Model (ARM) for the 2013-2014 academic year!  This is an opportunity for you to use your leadership skills and special abilities to help the residents at The College of St. Scholastica.  Moreover, these positions are formative for you as an individual, and we look forward to being a part of that growth in your life.

Please submit your application packet to the Office of Residential Life and Housing no later than NOON on Wednesday, January 23, 2013.  Please include in your cover letter a brief description on why you want to be a RA or ARM. You may apply for both positions, with the understanding that you would not be able to serve in both programs.

January 7                     Applications are available online at the CSS Res. Life Page

January 14                   Applications are available in hard copy in the Office of Residential Life and Housing in Somers Hall.

January 16                   Information Session I - 8:30 p.m., T87

January 17                   Information Session II - 4:00 p.m., T87

January 18 & 21         MANDATORY ­- Application Completion and Resume Writing Workshop

                                       It is mandatory to attend one of the following sessions:

                                       Friday, January 18, Session I: 3:30 p.m., T3131

                                       Monday, January 21, Session II: 6:30 p.m., T3414

January 23                 MANDATORY - Application packet due by NOON to the Office of Residential Life and Housing.

January 27                  MANDATORY - Group Process

                                      Meet in Science Auditorium, and then disburse to classrooms, 2 - 5 p.m.

January 27                 MANDATORY - Individual Interviews with Current Resident Advisors and Academic Role Models.  Science Center Classrooms 6 - 8

January 28                 First screening is complete, and finalists are notified via letter (email) by 4 p.m.

January 29                  Finalists sign up for formal individual interviews with Residential Life Staff.

January 30 -

February 1                   MANDATORY - Finalists meet for a group meal with the Assistant Dean of Students for Campus Life.

January 30 -

February 6                  MANDATORY - Finalists interview with Residential Life Coordinators and other Student Affairs Staff.

February 8                   Candidates will be notified via letter by 4 p.m.
