About The Event: Tying the Knot is a celebration of "fatherhood" interweaving song, images, storytelling and dance. This spirited evening will honor the unbreakable bonds that connect the richness of African American culture to the vital and universal role of fathers and fatherhood in our communities. Hosted by Emmy Award winning actor, vocalist, arts educator and affiliate professor at the University of Minnesota in the College of Theatre Arts and Dance, T.Mychael Rambo, this program will bring to the Fitzgerald stage the culmination of a number of collaborations with area arts, literature and community based organizations creating content that will provide added depth, texture and appeal to the evening's presentation. Performers will include poet(s)/playwrights like Marion McClinton and Rohan Preston and vocalists Bruce Henry, Julius Collins, Aimee Bryant, Thomasina Petrus, and Tonia Hughes-Kendrick. |

The College of St. Scholastica will mark its Centennial on Sept. 10, 2012. This is 100 years to the day after six young women presented themselves for matriculation to the newly formed College. Since then, St. Scholastica has grown to over 3,900 students, five statewide locations, and dozens of graduate, undergraduate, and certificate programs, including online and accelerated evening offerings.Learn more about Centennial celebrations at centennial.css.edu! |

Emeritus CollegeConnecting lifelong learning with friends in your community, where curiosity never ages! Enrollment is open to all curious learners, and no formal degrees are required. Emeritus College is a program of continuing education for lifelong learners. Join us for enrichment seminars with stimulating instructors and energetic participants without the stress of tests and assignments. Most Emeritus College courses meet for 90 minutes, once a week for six weeks at The College of St. Scholastica and at convenient community locations throughout the region.
