Spring 2013

Dear fellow alumni,
As I write this, the College's spring semester is about to begin. I was on campus for theDecember commencement ceremonies, and I was reminded of all the excitement, anticipation, and anxiety of graduation - not to mention the uncertainty and opportunity that I found beyond my time at the College. I can hardly believe it's been nearly 10 years since I walked across thecommencement stage. The memories are so vivid; it feels so much more recent. I attribute thisto the strong sense of hospitality and community at the College, and the close friendships, bornin Duluth, that live on today. This sense of community has allowed many of us to thrive in our lives beyond our time at the College.
The Alumni Association Board of Directors and I would like to personally invite you to reconnect or continue to engage in this community, supporting fellow alumni and current students at the College. We are seeking individuals to serve on the Alumni Association Board to help nurture and strengthen our Alumni Association and support the College and its missions. Please consider nominating a fellow alumn or, better yet, self-nominate to become a director bycompleting a self-nomination form at: www.css.edu/alumniboard.
We'd like to be able to remain in contact with you and ensure that you're receiving information about all the opportunities available to you as an alum. If you haven't done so recently, please consider updating your contact information with the alumni office. And if you're interested in supporting current students and fellow alumni in their career development, please registerwith the Saints Career Network. You can update your information and join the Saints CareerNetwork service by visiting: www.css.edu/saintscareernetwork.
Thank you for the moment you have taken in your busy schedule to read this letter. I hope theNew Year is bringing you happiness and prosperity, and that you may be motivated to share your time, talents, and affection for the College with other members of the St. Scholastica community.
Sincerely,
Jake Tjaden '03
