The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program at The College of St. Scholastica educates professional nurses for advanced practice in nursing in one of the following areas:
clinical nurse specialists in adult nursing,
adult/geriatric nurse practitioner
family nurse practitioner
adult psychiatric nurse practitioner
family psychiatric nurse practitioner
Doctoral-level courses are integrated throughout the advanced practice nursing curriculum and prepare the future DNP to expand their knowledge and practice options. Students can opt for a dual track of study by adding a gerontological specialization to any of the advanced practice tracks.
The DNP program is offered as a Post-master's option for current advanced practice nurses, and a BS to DNP option for baccalaureate-prepared registered nurses. Both options are delivered in an online format, supplemented with minimal on-campus meetings. This makes our DNP programs accessible to working students with busy lives. The Post-Master's option is available 100% online.
By pursuing your DNP at St. Scholastica, you will have access to a wide variety of clinical sites, large and small, rural and urban, hospitals and community centers. Our programs use the expertise of faculty who currently practice in health care settings and/or conduct research in order to give you the best preparation possible for advanced practice nursing.
The Doctor of Nursing Practice is offered at the following locations:
Duluth
St. Cloud - Family Nurse Practitioner track
Online - Post-master's and select BS to DNP courses
