What is your field of expertise, and what makes you interested in this field?

Technically I'm an Internship Coordinator, my role is a liaison between students, faculty and businesses. Bridging this gap is key for all parties, including the community. I enjoy helping students find jobs, helping faculty learn about businesses and allowing businesses to keep in touch with colleges while promoting their company.

What do you like best about St. Scholastica?

Small town feel with big city opportunity. Our Internship program and Career Services give students the opportunity to take the initiative prepare for the real world. With a plethora of resources and alumni at our disposal, we are able to not only give examples but provide one-on-one resources to assist.

What's your most interesting teaching or research experience at St. Scholastica?

Monthly we take students to area businesses so they can actually see what it's like to work in an IT Department. Here you go into the field and can interact, applying what you've learned. It's also a great way for students to learn about area businesses and begin considering what they want to do with their career.

What's your advice for prospective students?

Always keep up to date by reading articles, blogs, subscribing to newsletters... Being passionate about technology will show potential employers that you are motivated.
