Research-based Active Learning Techniques
The half-day morning workshop consists of micro-lectures combined with active learning sessions in which you'll experience a range of active learning techniques and consider ways to apply them to your own teaching. Workshop topics include: What is active learning? * Motivation and intellectual styles in active learning * Active learning to deepen and extend knowledge * Active learning for skill development * Assessing active learning
Flipped Learning Technologies
This half-day afternoon workshop starts with group sharing and a whirlwind tour of technology options for both (a) the advance presentation of content and (b) ways technology can be used to enhance active learning in the classroom setting. Additionally, the final 90 minutes of the session will guide attendees in the set-up and use of their own virtual classroom in Adobe Connect. Using Adobe Connect, presentations can be delivered webinar-style or pre-recorded for viewing on-demand!
