DULUTH, MN - Clean Recovery Services at The College of St. Scholastica will host "Dispelling Popular Myths About Addiction with Fred Holmquist," at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, in Somers Lounge on campus. A social hour will begin at 6:30 p.m. The event is free of charge and the public is welcome.
Holmquist is the director of 'The Lodge program' at Hazelden's Dan Anderson Renewal Center. He will describe a simple model for understanding the Twelve Step spiritual-change paradigm.
His presentation is part of a series offered by Clean Recovery Services at St. Scholastica in partnership with Hazelden, an internationally known nonprofit addiction treatment center based in Center City, MN. During the series, Hazelden experts advance Clean Recovery Services' ongoing commitment to engaging the Twin Ports in better understanding the chronic disease of addiction to alcohol and other drugs, the continuums of treatment and care, and how to find recovery for all who are touched by addiction.
Clean Recovery Services at St. Scholastica provides a welcoming and supportive community where students and nearby residents in recovery from chemical dependency, who are committed to a life of sobriety, can strengthen their skills to enhance their academic, professional and personal development.
